As far as the eye could see; buildings and houses burned, the flames glowing red in the dark night sky. Surviving villagers flied for their lives, children in hand; leaving everything they knew and loved behind.
Destruction
Bodies lay, scathed and torn, along the streets of this doomed village. The workings of foreign shinobi, sent to destroy the helpless town.
What was it all worth?
Golden eyes scanned over the carnage and the fires that burned like hell itself.
Living
“Hime-sama!” a black haired kunoichi appeared suddenly, kneeled down in respect. The golden eyed princess turned her head, her stunningly beautiful face grim.
Killing
“Why,” her voice, smooth like silk, sounded almost pained. “Why do we live in such a world? Where war is endless and peace never exists” she asked, staring back into the destruction. The kunoichi behind her stayed silent, unable to answer the princess’ wish.
Loving
‘But maybe…’
“Maybe, a better future awaits us” the kunoichi said quietly, hope hinted in her words. “Sakuya-hime?”
Dieing
“Yes, a better future…” her answer trailed off as the princess stared up at the big moon above her. ‘I look forward to that future, to begin anew…Aka Hana’
